• Go and Sin no more

    John 8.

     In verse 2.

Jesus was in the temple and taught the people.

    Verses 3 To 6.

“The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him.

I apologize for the mistakes of my English

     Go and Sin no more

    John 8.

Jesus knew the requirements of the law.
The law of Moses condemned such people (women or men) to be stoned. Jesus knew that.

In Matthew 5 verses 17 to 19 Jesus will say:

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Still in Matthew 5 continuing Jesus tells us that the law is even more demanding than what is written.

He will give prescriptions that will exceed the written law. Saying: You have heard that was said, and quotes an extract from the law And adds: And I say to you by giving even higher prescriptions.

he will say for example in the case of adultery:
    Math 5: 27 and 28.

You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

These requirements are true, just and good and they show men their sin or sinful body that makes them unable of obeying God.

    Rom 3: 19 & 20.

Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, all the world may become guilty before God. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

Yet he will still say in the last verse of Matthew 5.

Verse 48: "You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.."

Jesus say the truth he does not give unachievable commandments, he does not do utopian wishes, what he says is true, he knew that there is a solution to be in accordance with the law, with God, a solution to be perfect as his heavenly Father is perfect.

Let's go back to John chapter 8.

All who have a Christian culture know Jesus' response to the Scribes and Pharises.

Jesus knows the heart of men He knows that all men have sinned, He knows that the men who accused this woman were no better than she and he said to them.

    John 8/7.

“Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her."

We know the rest of the story:

    John 8/9.

“And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.”

    Then in verse 11.

“And Jesus said Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

Jesus is the truth, he does not make wishful thinking, nor empty promises, when he speaks, it is the truth, when he says to the adulterous woman. "Go and sin no more" he knows that it is possible.

In Matthew 5 as in John 8 we see that there is the law, the commandments that men, because of their body of sin, are unable to follow entirely, even though they are just, good and obligatory if we want please to God.

And Jesus who says to us, "Be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect."

and also: "Go and sin no more".

On the one hand, a law impossible to follow entirely for a man born of Adam and on the other Jesus tells us do it is possible.

In the following verse 12 of John 8 Jesus tells us how it is possible.

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

To follow Jesus is the answer to men who want to walk in the light, without sin.
Walking in the light is incompatible with sin. Walking in the light is synonymous with walking without sin.

The light of the world, Jesus, gives power to all who follow him with all their heart to become a son of God.

    (John 1 verses 12 & 13).

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

    1 John 1/7.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

We can still go a little further in John 8, verse 34 to 36 Jesus tells us:

“Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

A lot of people think that we will all be in paradise like a famous French singer has song it.

But it's impossible, and that's not what Jesus says.

If you are a slave to sin you does not remain in the house forever.

As long as you look for him walking under the law, you can remain in the house for a while, but to remain there forever, you must be released by, Jesus, the son of God.

There is no sinner in the Kingdom of God. The sinner will not live with the Saint.

Moreover, it is here and now that it happens, there will be no purification in the sky, after our death, whether we are Christians or not, if we are or remain sinners, on this earth we will die in our sin.

    John 8 verse 21.

“I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”

He will tell them a little further, in John 8 verses 23 and 24:

“And he said to them, You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. This is why I told you that you will die in your sins.”

To go where Jesus goes, we must also be from above, that is to say, born of God. As quoted above in John 1 verses 12 and 13.

    Mattew 5 verse 20.

For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I hope this video has been helpful.

    Bye bye.

    God bless you.
